Beer Can Designs
This project focused on creating two beer labels that capture the essence of Ottawa while resonating with the target audience of a local brewery. The design process involved in-depth research into the brewery’s history, branding, and existing product aesthetics to ensure the labels aligned with its identity. Drawing inspiration from Ottawa’s cultural and historical heritage, the labels were designed to stand out on shelves and forge a meaningful connection with the community.
The Concepts
Phantom of the Castle Ale
This label draws from the eerie tale of Château Laurier’s ghostly legend. The sketches feature the iconic hotel wrapped in a ghostly aura, with subtle nods to its haunted history, like shadowy figures and dimly glowing windows. The design merges historic grandeur with an air of mystery, creating a striking and memorable look.
The Royal Swans Sour
This label captures the regal beauty of Ottawa’s royal swans, gifted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1967. The sketches depict swans in graceful motion on the Rideau River, complemented by soft, flowing lines and royal-inspired accents. The design celebrates their legacy with elegance and charm.
From Concept to Completion
